Device-Specific Issues
Many Android manufacturers add aggressive battery management on top of stock Android. These settings can prevent Auto Call Scheduler from running in the background, causing scheduled calls to silently fail.
The app has a built-in Device Guidance screen (hamburger menu → Device Guidance) that detects your phone brand and shows tailored instructions. Try that first.
Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO
Xiaomi's MIUI is one of the most aggressive at killing background apps.
Required settings:
- Background auto start: Settings → Apps → Background auto start → Auto Call Scheduler → On. If you do not see it, use Settings → Apps → Manage apps → Auto Call Scheduler → Autostart.
- App battery saver: Settings → Battery → App battery saver → Auto Call Scheduler → No restrictions.
- Recent apps lock: Recent apps → Auto Call Scheduler card → Lock.
Dual Apps (Dual Mode) breaks Google Sign-In
Xiaomi's Dual Apps feature clones an app so it can run with a separate account. If Dual Mode is enabled for Auto Call Scheduler, Google Sign-In will fail because the cloned environment cannot properly access Google Play Services.
To fix this:
- Go to Settings → Apps → Dual apps
- Find Auto Call Scheduler in the list
- Toggle it off
- Restart the app and sign in with Google again
Schedules saved in the cloned (dual) instance will not carry over to the main instance. Back up your data before disabling Dual Mode.
Samsung
Samsung's One UI has sleeping/deep sleeping app lists that restrict background activity.
Required settings:
- Remove from sleeping apps: Settings → Battery → Background usage limits → Sleeping apps → Remove Auto Call Scheduler
- Add to Never sleeping apps: Settings → Battery → Background usage limits → Never sleeping apps → Add Auto Call Scheduler
- Disable Adaptive battery (optional): Settings → Battery → Adaptive battery → Off
Huawei / Honor
EMUI has multiple layers of battery management.
Required settings:
- Auto-launch: Settings → Battery → App launch → Auto Call Scheduler → Toggle off auto-manage, enable all three toggles manually (Auto-launch, Secondary launch, Run in background)
- Ignore battery optimization: Settings → Battery → Battery optimization → Auto Call Scheduler → Don't optimize
Oppo / Realme / OnePlus (ColorOS / OxygenOS)
Required settings:
- Auto-startup: Settings → App management → Auto-startup → Enable Auto Call Scheduler
- Battery optimization: Settings → Battery → Battery optimization → Auto Call Scheduler → Don't optimize
- Allow background activity: Settings → App management → Auto Call Scheduler → Allow background activity
Vivo (Funtouch OS)
Required settings:
- Autostart: Settings → More settings → Applications → Autostart → Enable Auto Call Scheduler
- High background battery consumption: Settings → Battery → Background Power Consumption Management → Auto Call Scheduler → Allow
Other Brands
For brands not listed above:
- Check the app's Device Guidance screen for any available instructions
- Look for settings related to:
- Autostart or auto-launch
- Battery optimization
- Background app restrictions
- Sleeping or frozen apps
- Make sure Auto Call Scheduler is excluded from all battery restrictions
Verify It's Working
After applying the settings:
- Create a test schedule set 2–3 minutes in the future
- Close the app completely (swipe from recent apps)
- Lock your phone
- Wait for the scheduled time
- If the call triggers, your settings are correct
If it still doesn't work, see Calls Not Triggering for additional steps.
