Calls Not Triggering

This is the most common issue with Auto Call Scheduler. Android's battery management can prevent background apps from running, which stops your scheduled calls from starting.

Quick Checklist

Run through these steps in order. Most issues are resolved by step 1 or 2.

1. Check Battery Optimization

This is the #1 cause. Android may be killing the app in the background.

  1. Open your phone's Settings → Battery
  2. Find Auto Call Scheduler
  3. Set it to Unrestricted (or Don't optimize)

2. Check Device-Specific Settings

Many phone brands (Xiaomi, Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo) add extra battery restrictions beyond stock Android.

Open the hamburger menu → Device Guidance for instructions specific to your phone.

See Device Guidance and Device-Specific Issues for details.

3. Check Permissions

Make sure all required permissions are granted:

PermissionHow to Check
PhoneSettings → Apps → Auto Call Scheduler → Permissions → Phone: Allow
Exact AlarmsSettings → Apps → Auto Call Scheduler → Alarms & reminders: Allow
Display Over Other AppsSettings → Apps → Auto Call Scheduler → Display over other apps: Allow
NotificationsSettings → Apps → Auto Call Scheduler → Notifications: On

See Permissions Issues for step-by-step instructions.

4. Check the Schedule is Active

  • Open the schedule list
  • Make sure the schedule shows an Active status (not Passive or Completed)
  • Check that the scheduled date and time is in the future
  • Tap the Play button to reactivate if needed

5. Check Airplane Mode

If you have Respect Airplane Mode enabled in the schedule's Call Behavior settings and your phone is in airplane mode, the call won't be placed automatically. Instead, you'll receive a notification with a "Call Now" button (or a silent reminder overlay if using Call Reminder mode). Check your notification shade for any airplane mode alerts.

6. Check Call Conflict

If Call Conflict Protection is enabled and you were on another call at the scheduled time, the call may have been delayed or skipped.

Test Your Setup

After making changes:

  1. Create a test schedule set 2–3 minutes in the future
  2. Close the app completely (swipe from recent apps)
  3. Wait for the scheduled time
  4. If the call triggers, your settings are correct

Still Not Working?

If none of the above resolves the issue:

  1. Open the hamburger menu → Support to contact support
  2. Include your phone model and Android version
  3. Mention which steps you've already tried
