Shortcuts for Scheduling
Creating a schedule doesn't have to start from the app. Whenever you come across a phone number — in a text message, on a website, or in your contacts — you can send it straight to Auto Call Scheduler and have a schedule ready in seconds. No need to copy, switch apps, and paste.
Share a Phone Number from Any App
Any app that lets you share text can send a phone number directly to Auto Call Scheduler.
How to do it
- Find a phone number in any app (messages, email, notes, contacts, etc.)
- Share the text containing the number — long-press and tap Share, or use the app's share button
- Pick Auto Call Scheduler from the share menu
- The schedule editor opens with the phone number already filled in
- Set your date, time, and preferences, then save
The text you share can contain more than just a number. Auto Call Scheduler is smart enough to find the phone number inside a block of text — for example, a full contact card or a message like "Call me at +1 234 567 8900 after 5pm."
Tap a Phone Number Link
Phone numbers displayed as links (in browsers, emails, or other apps) can open Auto Call Scheduler directly.
How to do it
- Tap a phone number link (usually highlighted or underlined)
- Your phone shows an app picker — choose Auto Call Scheduler
- The schedule editor opens with the number ready to go
If your phone always opens another app (like the default dialer) when you tap a number, you may need to change the default. Go to Android Settings → Apps → Default apps and clear the default for phone links, so the picker appears again.
What Happens Next
No matter which shortcut you use, the result is the same:
| What's filled in | How |
|---|---|
| Phone number | Extracted automatically from the shared text or link |
| Extension | Detected if the number includes one (e.g. +1-234-567-8900, ext. 123) |
| Contact name & photo | Matched automatically if the number exists in your contacts |
Everything else — date, time, repeat pattern, call behavior — is yours to configure, just like a regular schedule. When you press back, you return to the app you came from, not the schedule list.
When to Use This
- A client texts you their number — share it and schedule a follow-up call
- You find a business number on a website — tap the link and schedule it right away
- Someone leaves a number in an email — share the email text and set a reminder to call back
- You receive a number with an extension — it's preserved automatically, no need to note it separately
